About our Stable Doors

All our stable doors are made to measure to your sizes and requirements in our own workshop they can be made from many woods including Oak, Idigbo (hardwood which can be stained or painted), Sapele, Iroko, Accoya and more. See the various stable door pages for guide prices and pictures.

Stable doors can be made to open inward or outward.

WEATHERBOARDS AND WEATHERSEAL

 All our stable doors are supplied with two wooden weatherboards one for the middle of the door and one for the bottom, these MUST be fitted if the door is not in a porch or covered area

Where the two halves of the stable door meet they are rebated together and weatherstripped ensuring no water or draft gets in

DOUBLE BOARDING

 This is if you want the door to look the same on the back as front. This option is included in 56mm thick energy efficient door)

One Vision Panel Doors - Add an extra £90 + VAT to the door price
Half Glazed & 4, 6 & 9 Glazed Doors - Add an extra £50 + VAT to the door price

DOOR THICKNESSES

44mm Thick (Typical thickness for replacement external doors)
 14mm toughened Pilkington K argon filled double glazed units

56mm Thick (greater energy efficiency)
Double boarded with 25mm insulation
24mm toughened Planitherm argon filled double glazed units (warm edge spacers if required)

T & G BOARDING

As all our doors are made to your specific sizes the number of T & G Boards may vary from the examples in the website. If you require a specific number there may be a small charge please ask.

COLOURS/FINISHING

For a stained/translucent finish doors can be supplied with a base coat of Sikkens HLS, further finish will be required. We can supply topcoats to suit. We can also offer a full factory finish (Teknos coating system) this is available in stain or paint, choose from a range of colours. Click on the door care link to the right for more info.

GLASS

As standard our doors are supplied with CLEAR toughened Pilkington K argon filled double glazed units. Other glass options are available click on the glass link above.

All glazed units are individual pieces i.e. 6 pane stable door has 6 panes not one pane with bars planted on the front.

Important:
Our doors are glazed from the outside this is the traditional way for wooden doors. If you would like your door to be glazed from the inside please state
at time of order.

Glass Proportions
All our doors are made in many different sizes so the glass proportions will not be exactly the same. Our experienced joiners will work out the best proportions for your glass from the door sizes you give us. If you have a specific requirement please ask.
